Keeping You Safe Up, Up and Away

Keeping You Safe Up, Up and Away

Our #1 priority when taking guests up, up and away for the past 29 years has always been safety. Though that priority will never change, what we consider safe looks a little bit different now. We have implemented new procedures into our hot air balloon tour operations in order to protect your health and safety, as well as the health and safety of our staff. We look forward to providing the same top-notch hot air ballooning experience you have come to know us for, now with some enhanced health and safety procedures.

Booking Procedure Updates:

  • We now have a 24-hour cancellation policy, and do not take any payment at the time of booking. This has been implemented for enhanced flexibility, because we know plans can change.
  • We have reduced our private flight pricing through the end of October to promote social distancing. View our Specials page for additional information.

Health + Safety Updates:

  • For shared hot air balloon rides, we have limited our hot air balloon and chase vehicle capacity to a maximum of 10 passengers, to provide additional room + distance for our guests.

*Please note, whether you book a shared or private hot air balloon ride, it is not possible to remain 6 feet apart from other guests due to the size of the basket and weight and balance requirements.

  • Touchless temperature checks will be facilitated for all Hot Air Expeditions staff and passengers upon arrival.
  • All Hot Air Expeditions staff and passengers are requested to stay home if feeling unwell, or exhibiting any symptoms of illness.
  • All Hot Air Expeditions staff and passengers will be required to wear masks when it is not feasible to remain 6 feet apart, specifically when in the chase vehicle, as well as during flight.
  • Complimentary fabric face masks (with a fun hot air balloon print!) will be provided to all passengers upon check in.
  • Lysol wipes, hand sanitizer and gloves will be available for passenger and staff use within each Hot Air Expeditions vehicle.
  • All Hot Air Expeditions staff will wear gloves if there is an instance where contact with a guest is needed.
  • We will continue to provide our post-flight food service in a socially distanced atmosphere. There will be no more than 4 guests per dining table, unless your party is traveling together, and all dining tables will be spaced 6 feet apart.
  • All shared surfaces will be disinfected pre and post-flight, including pens, clipboards, payment terminals, hot air balloon baskets/equipment, dining tables/benches, and vehicles.
